Welcome to the Online Home of the
Valencia High School Tiger Regiment

The Tiger Regiment, under the direction of Richard King, includes the Band (marching, wind, symphonic), Jazz Bands (I and II), Colorguard and Drumline. In the fall semester, the Tiger Regiment can be found marching outdoors doing field shows and parades. During the spring season, the Regiment forms Winterguard, Drumline Jazz and various concert band groups. Each requires additional auditions and attends competitive events throughout the season.

At this site, you will find updates and information on all the before mentioned groups because we are all part of the GREAT TIGER REGIMENT.

The calendar link in the left navigation column of each page contains the latest information regarding the upcoming season. We’d just like to highlight the most important ones below:

Academic Student Assistance Schedule

Each year, as a courtesy for parents, Valencia High School puts together a tutoring schedule that is posted online http://vhstigers.org/tutor_schedule.jsp. It is quite an impressive list of teachers who are willing to give of their time to help their students.

As we come to the grading semester, students who need academic help may find this opportunity useful.

  • To Bling or Not To Bling – Dog Tag Spirit Wear

Our newest Fundraiser is all about showing your Tiger Spirit. These dog tags can be used as a keychain or worn as a necklace and can be personalized.
Helps with your individual fundraising efforts as approx. a third of each item sold goes back to the band member’s fair share pledge. So make sure you fill in the band member’s name.

Holidays are coming up…they make great unique and personalized gifts for band members, band parents, grandparents, and siblings – Heck, even your dog can wear one!
But most of all, show your Tiger Regiment Spirit on campus and in the stands!
Turn in the form with a check made out to “Simply Cute” to the black box in the band office. Items will be given to the band member when ready for delivery.
    Available in blue and yellow.

On-Campus Parking

Dear Boosters:

It has come to our attention that a number of groups, including the Tiger Regiment Boosters, have been parking in areas on campus not designated for this use. Specifically, the area directly in front of the band building courtyard, and in front of the foreign language building. Basically, everything up the ramp and beyond the solid yellow “off limits” line.
This area has always been off limits to parking, but was previously cordoned off with a chain (except when loading and unloading trailers). During construction, the chain disappeared, and people started taking advantage of the added space. With all of the groups utilizing the campus these days, parking at the south end is at a premium, but we are guests on campus and must be respectful of all campus regulations.

Over the last year, a great deal of renovation work has been accomplished, with all of the new concrete flatwork in the quad and new floor finishes in many classrooms. Oil and dirt brought up on to the campus blacktop is being tracked inside on shoes and is damaging these brand new finishes. The last thing we want to do is contribute to damaging our new campus, both inside and out.

I would ask everyone to be patient and understanding, and be respectful guests when parking and utilizing school resources. We will work to try and establish some traffic flow solutions, especially when picking students up after practice, football games, or field shows. In the meantime, please do not park in any areas not designated for this purpose (lined with clearly marked parking stalls) and specifically, do not drive up the ramp in front of the band building onto the campus proper.

Thank you for your cooperation.

School Policy of Prior Notice for During School Access

If you are planning to visit a classroom during school hours (parent, booster club representative, IEP meetings, etc.) please send an email to Mr. King explaining who is coming, the date they are coming and time they are coming so that he can notify the front office. This will definitely help the office run smoothly. If they know in advance, they can have you sign in, give you a visitor badge, and send you on your way instead of trying to make those arrangements at the last minute. That will eliminate some of the time and congestion in the office.

Also, former students will only be allowed to visit a classroom if those visitations are pre-arranged. If not notified, the office will not allow them to interrupt the classroom.
