Our big event of the season is coming up this coming Saturday – the Valencia Classic Field Show! That’s our big news for this coming week, details are below. But before we get to that, we want to point out a few other things first.

Saturday Recap – Heritage Day Parade/Parent Preview/Restaurant Fundraiser

Thank you to everyone who came to support the Tiger Regiment last Saturday. It was a long, but fulfilling day. The parade was such a fun time for everyone involved. We hope to post some pictures on the website for those who were not able to attend.

We had a great turnout for Parent Preview night and are grateful to all those who attended. It gave you a glimpse into all the hard work your students have been putting into getting ready for not only the parade, but especially the Desperado field show. We are so proud of them!

We also don’t want to forget the big turnout for the JDs Wingz & Thingz restaurant fundraiser. In spite of it being a last minute addition, it raised $330 for the program! Thank you all for your continued support.

VHS vs Crean Lutheran Homecoming Football Game – Friday October 15

Same details as past football games with a couple of exceptions. First, the link to buy tickets is different. Click here to buy your tickets to the game.

Secondly, and more importantly, is that because of the homecoming festivities happening during halftime, the Tiger Regiment will perform their field show just before the start of the game. Call time for the students is 5:00pm this week (a half hour earlier than before). Be sure to also bring your polo shirt to change into after the performance.

Lastly, we’re grateful for all the parent help we’ve had in getting the bleachers ready for the students, the water jugs filled and pushing all the equipment out onto the field for the show. If you haven’t come to help, it’s a great way to get involved. Just show up at call time and see how you can help.

Fall Raffle Fundraiser

We’re in our last week of selling raffle tickets. As was announced at Parent Preview, it’s very important that if you have any tickets already sold, please have your student bring the stubs and cash to Gaby at Tuesday’s rehearsal. If you need or want more tickets, you can get some from Gaby at that time as well.

If you missed the details of what this fundraiser is about, read this section of a previous news update

As mentioned before, we will be doing the drawing at the field show on October 16. So keep getting those tickets sold!

If you have questions, contact Gaby at gruvalcaba@me.com.

Holiday Wreath Fundraiser

Just in time for the holidays, here’s another great way to support the program and your family donation. Go to the Fundraising page for details

The wreaths are $25 each and while the proceeds from the first order will go towards the Tiger Regiment program, proceeds from all other orders will go direct to the student’s family donation. The best part is that orders can be placed through any of our electronic payment options or online at https://sherwoodfundraiser.com/VHSTigerRegiment. In either case, it’s important that the buyer specifies the Regiment member in order for them to get credit for the sale.

All orders are due November 8, 2021 and will be delivered to the Tiger Regiment representative between November 29th and December 4th.

Valencia Classic Field Show – This Saturday October 16

Final details are being worked out by the boosters and we will update the Classic Field Show webpage accordingly. Please keep coming back for ongoing updates.

As of now, we have 7 bands performing, including the Tiger Regiment. Gates will open at 5pm and the first band will perform at 6pm. Awards will be around 8:30pm.

Thank you to all the parents who have signed up, we really appreciate it! If you haven’t had a chance to sign up, we still need more volunteers. Click here to sign up! If there’s a section you’d like to volunteer, but it’s filled up, sign up to be a floater and provide your preference. That will help us in planning out our official volunteer schedule. However, as was discussed during the walkthrough this weekend, please be flexible if we need to switch you to a different area that we need help with.

Parent volunteers should expect to arrive around 4pm to get checked in and set up at your assigned area. We should be done cleaning up by around 10pm. If you will be needing to work a shorter shift, just let one of the boosters know so we can make sure there’s coverage.

IMPORTANT REMINDER: To help offset costs, we are asking each Regiment member to donate drinks and candy that can be sold at concessions. Each grade level has a specific list of suggested items to donate. Please go to the Donations section of the web page here for that list. We really need these to be dropped off by the end of Tuesday’s rehearsal so we can have an accurate count and know how much more we’ll need to buy to supplement.

Family Donations Update

We appreciate everyone who has been able to donate to the program. Just a reminder, you should have received a statement earlier this week to let you know what has been donated thus far. If you haven’t received anything, please email our treasurer, JC, at treasurer@tigerregiment.org. Be sure to include your name and your student’s name in your email so she can match up the account and get you a current statement.

We have several ways to submit your family donations including Venmo, Zelle, PayPal, or P.O. Box. Instructions for all of these are located on the fundraising page of our website.

In addition, keep in mind that there are a few ways to offset the $600 family donation we’re asking for the fall marching season (all of which are on our Fundraising page)

  • Fall Raffle – for every ticket sold, $5 goes towards your family donation
  • Holiday Wreaths – the first order will go towards the program. All other wreaths sold will contribute about $8 each towards your family donation
  • Adopt-a-Tiger – send donation letters to friends, family and even businesses who can donate towards your family donation. Details are on the Fundraising page.

Please note: Your student will not be denied participation in the program nor singled out due to any inability to make donations. It is our hope that if you can donate to the program, you will. Check our fundraising page often as we will make every effort to list as many opportunities for fundraising as we can.
