Incoming and Returning Band Night and Parent Meeting – Monday, May 2 at 6-8:30PM

Thank you to everyone who attended our parent meeting last week. It was great to catch everyone up on our past events as well as everything coming up as we finish this school year and look forward to the next season.

Whether you were able to attend or not, please add this coming Monday May 2 to your calendar and plan to attend a meeting for all incoming and returning students along with their parents. Students should bring their instruments as well.

There will be an information session for students who will then rehearse some music that will be shared later that evening. The parents will meet separately with the board to discuss the upcoming season and answer any questions. You won’t want to miss this time to meet some new parents and welcome them to the program.

PYLUSD District Concert April 28 7PM at VHS Gym

This is an annual event where elementary and middle school band programs join the high school bands to share all they’ve been learning throughout the school year and celebrate the great music program in our district.

You may even find yourself walking down memory lane as you recall the days when your own student was performing in that same elementary school!

Call Time for students is 6:30pm. They should arrive dressed in “Concert Black”. If you don’t know what that is by now… 🙂

Music in the Parks – April 29 and 30

Another weekend of Music in the Parks is fast approaching. We can always use extra help from any parents who are available. Please visit the Music in the Parks page on the Tiger Regiment website to sign up. Student sign up sheets are posted in the band room. Your student can earn community service hours by signing up.

In addition, we are also hosting four more Saturdays coming up May 7, May 14, May 21, and June 4. Please sign up if you have the time to help on any of those dates. We appreciate your continued support!

Tiger Jam – Friday, May 6 7PM at VHS Gym

Concert band, jazz band, drumline, color guard, the saxophone quartet, and the clarinet quartet will all be performing some of the great music they’ve prepared.

We will also have a raffle with some great prizes. We look forward to seeing you on May 6 at 7PM at the Valencia Gym.

2nd Annual Placentia Jazz and Art Festival – May 15

UPDATE MAY 9 – Unfortunately, this even has been cancelled due to lack of ticket sales. If you ordered tickets, contact the event organizer to obtain your refund.

Thank you to all who ordered tickets! The event organizers are looking forward to “offering a bigger and better experience in 2023!”

The Jazz and Art Festival is a benefit event to support the visual and performing arts in our community. This is also a great fundraising opportunity for the Tiger Regiment in that we will receive a portion of all the ticket sales made by our school. So please consider attending and bringing others to enjoy the great music.

The festival is being held at Champions Sports Complex at 505 Jefferson in Placentia. The event begins at 10am and will go till 8pm. Our very own Tiger Regiment Jazz Band will be performing at 12:30pm. But stick around because later in the day, professional jazz bands with Grammy award winning musicians will also be performing.

Be sure to purchase tickets by using this web link so that the Tiger Regiment gets the credit for the sale:

Below is an image with a QR code you can use to share on your social media pages which can also be used to credit the Tiger Regiment. Thank you for supporting the band and this event.
