Today’s update will focus on what’s happening this Saturday as there is quite a bit to discuss along with a couple other quick updates. Most of this was shared in our previous update.

VHS vs Pacifica Home Football Game – Friday October 8

Reminder that call time for the students is 5:30pm. All the details for this game was outlined in our last update. Check it out here.

Fall Raffle Fundraiser

A previous news update had much of the details you need to know, so we encourage you to read that if you haven’t done so already

VERY IMPORTANT: If you have already sold any tickets, please be sure to bring the stubs and cash to Gaby right away. We need to start getting a count of how many tickets have been sold. You can bring them to Parent Preview night.

We will be doing the drawing at the field show on October 16. So keep getting those tickets sold!

If you have questions, contact Gaby at gruvalcaba@me.com.

Saturday October 9 Events

Below are some of the events we shared previously. There was also a schedule put together that you can open and print. One important update to note…we previously said we were looking to provide a food truck available between the field show volunteer meeting and Parent Preview. That did not work out. However, we have a new restaurant fundraiser we want to encourage you to take advantage of…

NEW Restaurant Fundraiser! JDs Wingz and Thingz! Saturday 11AM-8PM

This is a new restaurant that just opened up, located at the corner of Bradford and Chapman. So it’s super close to the school and the owner, Mario, is very excited about working with the Tiger Regiment on this and on future fundraising opportunities.

There would be a lot of opportunities for students and their families to pick up a meal:

  • Lunch after the parade
  • Early dinner before afternoon rehearsal starts at 4pm
  • Pick up a meal to bring to your student during the break between 6:30-7pm
  • And any other time that’s convenient!

Let’s show Mario and the restaurant some love on Saturday. Be sure to share on your social networks as well as word of mouth – have your students do the same at school and on their social networks!

Heritage Day Parade – Saturday 7-11:30AM

We hope you’re planning to be on the parade route to cheer them on and to enjoy some of the other groups parading down Kraemer Blvd. It’s always a fun community event!

Reminder that call time is 7AM at the band room. They are to come dressed in a black t-shirt and athletic shorts and be sure they have their marching shoes (Dinkles) and long black socks. They will tentatively be back to the band room to be picked up around 11:30AM.

Valencia Classic Field Show Training – Saturday 5-6PM

This is for anyone who will be volunteering. Even if you haven’t signed up, but are planning to volunteer, come and be part of reviewing the flow for the day.

We will try to be done by 6PM to give you an opportunity to visit JD’s Wingz & Thingz for dinner for yourself and your student if necessary.

Parent Preview Night – 7-8:30PM

The students are looking forward to giving you a preview of everything they’ve been working on up to this point as they prepare for their first field show the following week.

The parents will also join their students on the field and be given an opportunity to experience a little bit of what it’s like to do the movements of the show and especially with their instrument. It’s a fun time to share and celebrate their accomplishments as we look forward to a great field show season.

Family Donations Update

You should have received a statement earlier this week to let you know what has been donated thus far. If you haven’t received anything, please email our treasurer, JC, at treasurer@tigerregiment.org. Be sure to include your name and your student’s name in your email so she can match up the account and get you a current statement.

As a reminder, families are asked to make a $600 per student donation for the fall marching season, which can be made all at once or in payments. We have several ways to submit your family donations including Venmo, Zelle, PayPal, or P.O. Box. Instructions for all of these are located on the fundraising page of our website.

Please note: Your student will not be denied participation in the program nor singled out due to any inability to make donations. It is our hope that if you can donate to the program, you will. Check our fundraising page often as we will make every effort to list as many opportunities for fundraising as we can.
